City budgets should prioritize the needs and safety of our communities and move us toward a future where all of us are free. This looks like investments in public schools, libraries, affordable housing, and healthcare, not 50% salary increases for cops. https://t.co/qfyA32ZSpQ
CURYJ & community gathered at 802 Oak Street, Alameda to remember #Justice4MarioGonzalez, murdered by Alameda Police 2 years ago. Amanda Majail-Blanco, the organizer, called for justice and asked @PPriceCares to take the case seriously.
This event is for Mario’s family's healing and to keep his memory alive. We hope our community can show up in support as you all have done in the past. If you would like to help in any way (set up, clean up, etc) please reach out to us here or email us. #alamtg
Please join us this Wed. 4/19 to honor Mario Gonzalez and his family. It's been 2 years since APD murdered Mario. We’re asking community members to come help hold space for those that loved and knew Mario. Feel free to bring flowers or battery operated candles. #Justice4MarioG
The survey results are in! We are really encouraged by the deep, thoughtful community conversation that the Alameda Community Budget survey initiated. Thank you for being a part of it. Explore the ACB report in our linktree and share it with a friend or neighbor.
UPDATE: Unfortunately this resolution passed Council last night. Thanks to everyone who spoke up and said NO to excessive police funding. Looks like we can expect more of the same from this Council. As always, we will hold them accountable to the community, together.
🚨 Action Alert!! 🚨 Tomorrow, 3/21, City Council will consider whether to let APD spend millions of dollars on hiring bonuses for new cops. Tap in to the council meeting tomorrow at 7pm and say NO to excessive police spending. Link in our bio for more info! #alamtg

If you plan to send in written comment on item 7-A, get those emails in by 5pm in order to have your comments attached to the agenda! Join the meeting at 7pm if you can as well. Our linktree has talking points and you can always DM us for support on comments.

“🚨 ACTION ALERT 🚨 Help support Mario Gonzalez's brother Efrain as he recovers from emergency surgery next week. We're sending him love and wishes for good health. We also hope to ease Edith’s responsibilities as she cares for her son by helping them with meals and essentials.
Supporting Efrain is a way to provide tangible, long-term support to survivors of state violence perpetrated right here in Alameda. Community care is what Edith and Efrain need from us right now, we hope you’ll join us in this effort. #WeKeepUsSafe”
