I was about to go on & on in a drawn-out thread what I can say in 4 words:
Read Scripture every day.
Make time to say to the world, to every newsfeed, to social media, to all the incessant talkers, balkers & barkers AND to your own echo chamber,
Everybody shut up but Jesus.
One of the most impactful revelations of my spiritual life is that God’s will for me is not some enormous, theoretical “something” out there. His will is happening now. It’s disguised as an ordinary day.
Like today. 🌞
What’s in front of u RIGHT NOW. Do it to the glory of God.
In an anxious and fearful world praise rises up in the spirit of people. This was sent to me today, men, women and children singing how great is our god from out their windows in Italy. Amazing! Worship is a weapon, and it’s even unifying in our isolation.
A funny thing about quarantining is hearing your partner in full work mode for the first time. Like, I’m married to a “let’s circle back” guy — who knew?
Friendly tip: For ppl standing in long lines among empty shelves at Costco, Trader Joe’s, etc. your local Asian grocery store may still be well stocked (ours was).
Bonus: you get to support local businesses that may be dealing w racist ripple effects of coronavirus fears.
People have always criticized God for not speaking because we’re used to yelling. God will never yell because when you yell you’re competing against noise. God will never compete. So He whispers knowing you have to be intentional in order to hear.
Keep doing what you’re called to do.
Do it when no one is watching.
Do it when all are watching
Do it when you don’t get recognition
Do it when you do get noticed
Do it when you feel like it
Do it when you don’t want to
Do it when it’s easy
Do it when it’s hard
Great was the debt of sin
Grace bought me back again
Now I am rising up
Won by the Savior's love
