Hey folks! I'm sorry I disappeared off the face of the earth. My illness flared up in the past months, but I'm feeling a little better now. I hope to start over with Transform!
I still haven't forgotten about this little project! We're facing some financial hardships and are in the process of moving in with family. Still, we're accepting submissions! I'm still working on the design! If any of you folks have questions, hit me up :)
I've been quietly working on the layout's design for our first anthology. We've also opened up the anthology to visual art instead of just poetry. Please submit your art and your poems! I'd love to have some new submissions to read.
Looking into getting an actual website for @transformmag. A very basic website hosted by GoDaddy would cost approximately 72$ per year. If we were to ever accept donations, would any of you kind folks be willing to support us?
Just letting you folks know that we'll never gatekeep here: you identify as trans, non-binary, or gender non-conforming? You're good to go! We're a massive spectrum of individuals and I think that's a beautiful thing ♥️
Hey Twitter!
@transformmag
is a poetry & visual arts anthology made specifically for trans, non-binary, and otherwise gender non-conforming individuals. Submit here: (link: https://t.co/IzKEMPG5p7) https://t.co/zRZO1nMCXn #lgbtpoetry#transpoetry#opensubmissions
@HUM1D1F13R That's also a good idea! My original idea for putting it in the TOC was so people would be able to skip through pages that they might find hurtful entirely, but having a more descriptive tw on the header could work as well!
How would you folks feel about us adding trigger warnings to the table of contents page? We think this would be a good way to help keep our readers safe and healthy whilst enabling our submitters to talk about heavier subjects without risking the reader's safety.
Looking at different magazine covers to get inspired for our own design. Thinking of including luna moths in our cover. They usually symbolize rebirth and renewal of body & spirit. I think that's pretty neat!
I'd love to use Submittable for our submissions process, but this disabled trans guy is broke! Are there any good alternatives? Or should we just keep accepting submissions via email?
Was looking into using Blurb for creation of the lit mag, but then the ebooks would cost 9.99$ :/ We want this to be accessible to everyone and don't want to hide our content behind a pay wall, so it looks like we won't offer hard copies.
How would you folks feel if I extended submissions to visual art in a more general sense? Photography, mixed media, 3D art... Basically anything besides animation. Would you folks be more likely to submit if the range of material we accepted was wider?
Acceptance letter sent! Internet is finally working again. I need more poems and photos to accept :) Send us in your work, I'm dying to look at emotive pieces!
Hey folks! I'm gonna be going over submissions today & tomorrow. Sorry for the slowness! Chronic illness has got me a little down & I somehow managed to hurt my ankle too. That's what's up! If you have any questions about the submission process, feel free to ask :)
