We have to get used to organised resistance to this government. We need to rebuild the activist skillset we lost from the covid slowdown and trying to be lobbyists under Labour. Backing TLA isn't just resisting transphobia, it's investing in the skills base we need to redevelop.

1/9 On Friday, May 10th, Winston Peters, leader of NZ First and co-deputy prime minister under the coalition government, introduced a bill to parliament that if passed would allow for anyone to be fined for using a bathroom that does not match the sex they were assigned at birth.

8/9 Ultimately, this affects all of us. The current government is deciding it is within their mandate to restrict people's freedom to participate in society. That's a massive step towards fascism, and we need to stop it.
