Former MP Iasha Shervashidze and his business partners donated GEL 345,000 to Georgian Dream.
The timing coincides with them receiving state-owned land in Batumi without competition and launching 33-storey construction projects.

📣Over the last 4 years, the salaries of deputies of ministers and mayors have already increased by 46%. For example, the salary of the Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi rose from 6,765 to 9,840 GEL.
However, it seems that even a salary of nearly 10,000 GEL is not enough: under the new draft law, these officials will be able to take an additional 3.5 months' salary per year in the form of a cash reward and bonus.

📢Why is the trial of 8 opposition leaders being kept secret?
There is not a single piece of relevant and plausible evidence in the 45-volume prosecution case, but finding justice was never the goal of this process. Instead of evidence, the case includes media sources, Facebook statuses, and disconnected financial documents.
It is no coincidence that in parallel with this criminal case, the ruling party is demanding the ban of the 4 most influential parties in the Constitutional Court.

📢Under the new draft law, deputies of ministers and mayors will be able to receive an additional 3.5 months' salary per year on top of their guaranteed pay.
Nowhere in the law does it state for what specific merit the official should receive this money. Consequently, there is a high risk that the reward will be issued solely on political grounds.
Since there are no rules for evaluating work performance, it turns out that the system is buying the partisan devotion and loyalty of its officials directly with our—the citizens'—money.
This change officially restores a practice that was banned in 2017 precisely because of corruption risks.
