pure dipped from here for ages, have been in my mad creative era the last week while as i have a Few exhibitions in the works 👀 rn all i do is reread the bible, trans the angels gender, and queer judas’s betrayal of jesus 💕
@DonegalBall@ParrhesiaNous@MrsBr0wn_82@Marytcusick2 there’s literally not plenty of fresh water in scotland, most of our fresh water reserves have been reported at dangerously low levels the last 2 years
the grid system isn’t there but that won’t outright stop them from building, hence why there’s such a large campaign against it
@DonegalBall@ParrhesiaNous@MrsBr0wn_82@Marytcusick2 scotland quite literally has a shortage of drinking water, which will worsen with this data centre. not to mention the fact that we don’t have the grid structure for the power it’ll consume, and the fact it’s literally planned to back onto peoples gardens…
@Dek125813@MrsBr0wn_82 you can quite literally cry ‘that’s not what they said!!!’ but my ass is quite literally sat in Fife right now, and i am telling you we are having almost weekly outages now because of how weak our power grids are here. we cannot physically handle a data centre on this grid
@DonegalBall@ParrhesiaNous@MrsBr0wn_82@Marytcusick2 ??? that’s literally an issue, the local water sources by the proposed data centre have been at dangerously low levels the last 3 years. you cannot recycle the water from an ai data centre. and yes, you can use up water hence why we have a worldwide shortage of water!
@DonegalBall@ParrhesiaNous@MrsBr0wn_82@Marytcusick2 you can’t ‘treat’ this water so that it’s drinkable again, and water quite literally CAN be used up. it’s why we have a shortage of water across the globe…. because we are using it inappropriately. once this chemically treated water evaporates, the chemicals leak into our rivers
Mark Russell (greens MSP) carpooled with us to the anti data centre meeting in Auchtertool. we were also joined by local councillors and MSPs from SNP and Reform. this is truly a cross party protest
@MrsBr0wn_82@Iain41742144 we are looking to see if we can send ecologist surveyors onto the site to see if we can document any rare, endangered, or protected species. scot gov have passed legislation that says local councils no longer need to request environmental impact assessments for data centres
@DonegalBall@ParrhesiaNous@MrsBr0wn_82@Marytcusick2 you can’t return the water once it’s been pumped through the cooling system, as it’s no longer safe for anyone to use or consume. so no. the water won’t return to scotland
@barneymcg999@MrsBr0wn_82@weeeannie the houses in auchtertool are too old for this to work, ILI have already said community members would need to apply to grants that might cover the cost of them converting their old heating systems. even then, its stated the surrounding area will raise in temperature by 9°C
@No2indy@MrsBr0wn_82 what jobs in high tech? there will be 4 security staff in the entire data centre, there’s little to no jobs actually provided for anyone never mind local people. and these closed loop cooling systems are knowing to leak, which will leak directly into our clean drinking water
