Hubo todo un debate a mediados de los 2000s, para lograr que la CA se disputara cada 4 años, como la EUROCOPA. Era lógico, el torneo se devaluaba si se hacía todo el tiempo.

Partió el 2007, 2011 y 2015. Se hizo una excepción el 2016 para el centenario. Siguió el 2019. Pero Messi no lograba ni un título a nivel de selección.

Entonces metieron un torneo el 2021, que no tenía sede 2 meses antes del torneo. Que lo acogió el que había hecho el último torneo (algo menos serio que repetir sede?), se jugó sin público. La final fue un escándalo arbitral. Todo para que Messi pudiera al fin ganar algo.

Para que vamos a hablar de la CA 2024, más arreglado que cumpleaños de niño chico (recuerdan el sorteo?).

Una vez logrado el objetivo: Messi multicampeón con su selección. La leyenda ya se construyó. El negocio ya rindió. Misteriosamente se acuerda que el torneo vuelva a ser cada 4 años. Sin ni un intento por disimularlo.
