She’d have casting agents searching for her and she doesn’t even remember her own password that she let Armin picked for her, to make sure it’s strong and secure 😂
Why do I think that modern au Mikasa rarely use social media. She knows the basics of it, but she doesn’t post anything, and people would take photos of her (without her consent) and post her in forums, asking for her name and socmed accounts which no one responds accurately.
I'm realizing just now that some people haven't just misinterpreted Mikasa Ackerman, they actually fail to comprehend dystopian fiction like AOT.
Storytelling isn't just about being heroic, it's about exploring complexities and Mikasa Ackerman is not a classic heroine.
Mikasa Ackerman is a woman who knew what she wanted, from the beginning and that infuriated her haters, saying she’s not “written well”. No honey, she just knew who exactly she is, and what her priorities are, in amidst chaos, she remains loyal to her peers.
@dutmaradona1 Didn’t she canonically discovered the colossal titans inside the walls?, talked the cadets to fight when they were frozen out of fear?, have stopped the cycle of hate that contributed to Gabi’s ultimate realization that they were all just humans? idk, what do you think?
@dutmaradona1 What you wanted to say is she has no identity outside of being “attached to Eren”, as if she was not the antithesis of Ymir Fritz.
She settled for everyone’s happiness and never was hailed the “hero” yet she is still far less important.
@dutmaradona1 Characters don’t have to be all political and vocal to have narrative importance. Mikasa may not have abstract ideologies as those you labelled as “interesting”, and her main motivations are not as grandiose which made her more of a realistic character in amidst of war.
@dutmaradona1 You’ve stated what she wanted: a normal life with Eren and Armin. It is point-blank and simple.
Lack of ideological and moral conflicts? Was the act of killing someone she loved, and opting not to be hailed as a "hero," not an ideological nor a moral struggle?
“no character development!” doesn’t mean a character doesn’t ‘pivot’ equals to her having no development at all. She is unapologetically honest and genuine to her friends. She never pretended to be someone else that she wasn’t, so what’s there to change? shes freaking perfect.
Do haters realize that Eren’s insecurities stemmed from protectiveness and perceived responsibility rather than “wanting to defeat Mikasa?”.
Eren was never a mysognist, as proven when he trusts Sasha’s instincts, respected Hange, and learned techniques from Annie.
While he criticizes everyone who wanted to join the military police. Yes, hypocrite Eren only emerges when Mikasa is involved.
Even calling himself a monster, to divert attention from her.
Eren wanted to be free, he aspired to be free, but never in the expense of Mikasa. Eren achieved freedom through death, but as his dream and the ending chapter has proved, he wanted freedom WITH her.
Eren’s love for Mikasa is often underestimated, stating prior seasons where he was “annoyed” or even angry at her. Eren felt inferior compared to Mikasa at one point, but his feelings for her were always present, just unpacked, and unaddressed.
They were children of war, they didn’t have a normal childhood, let alone, time to comprehend these feelings. It was in the later seasons where Eren realized that those feelings were “romantic”, but he always knew he wanted to be with her, he just didn’t know what it’s called
