it all kinda clicked when I realized local grass fed and finished beef is actually more sustainable than eating a bunch of bananas imported from South America
@IAMSEMWTL @remnantposting It’s not all about caloric intake - definitely most kids get their bulk of calories from food after 2, but there are still benefits from mom’s immune system, micronutrients, and comfort for the occasional skinned knee.
@Agratefulheart_ The nurses (borrowed from another hospital due to staffing shortage) when I gave birth told me after they had never seen an intervention free birth before mine 😬
@motherpilled Whew, me too, but was just thinking yesterday “do I *play* with the toddler enough?” and I think yes, it’s just that her idea of fun is helping unload the dishwasher and that is a win
@CatholicCharm Wear the baby through security (consider TSA precheck, but if you don’t fly much maybe not) and you’ll go through metal detector and pat down instead of the wave machine. Get a folding rolling cart for the toddler’s car seat to truck through the airport if he’ll be sitting in it.
@wrowclif I did this a lot on the swings as a kindergarten- all I can say is I have near perfect vision but am light sensitive and have a photoreflexive sneeze
brb rewriting my birth doula offerings to include supporting intended freebirths because I believe women have every right to choose where and with who they birth and I may not bother certifying with an organization that forces me to only work within the medical system
the peanut app (tinder for making mom friends) is unhinged and also now pay walled for its intended feature, so I’ve never actually made a mom friend on it, and yet it’s the thing everyone suggests in the Fb mom groups when someone posts looking for friends. I hate it.
