@Columbia@quadlabsinc You don't need a new skill. You need to point the one you have at something you're actually curious about, with no expectation that it goes anywhere.
Read weird things. Pull the thread. Ideas don't arrive because you sat down to have one.
I used to work as a distressed debt analyst. Reading Chapter 11 filings was the job.
Last year I read one that had nothing to do with work, and it turned into @quadlabsinc
A thread.
@Columbia@quadlabsinc The analysis wasn't clever. I'd run the same read on dozens of capital structures and felt nothing. The only difference was that this one was about a world I actually lived in.
Very excited to announce we're officially submitting our app for review on the App Store.
For my dev friends; have you ever submitted an app to the App Store?
Thoughts on recruiting. The job market is so incredibly competitive on the employee side; most employers have tremendous negotiating power when it comes to hiring.
Compensation, cash or benefits, is so extremely tight. Beneficial for me, but still feels like an injustice...
So funny, because I have 20 followers on here, but it's worth giving it a shot. If you, or anyone you know, would like to represent quad on one of the following campuses, PM me!
Brown, Cornell, NYU, Notre Dame, Northeastern, UChicago, UPenn, Vanderbilt, MIT, Harvard, JHU
New update on Quad, and I feel like a lot of people are going to say; "I told you so..."
We're having trademark issues. Who knew building a social media app based on universities and calling it quad would be an issue.
Cooked.
I'll try to give you guys a mix of technical and non-technical updates (even though x seems to be swarming with engineers lately).
Follow for more updates!
As promised, giving you a real view into what's happening this fine NY morning at quad.
Good news:
- pushed the app to TestFlight and very close to submitting for review on App Store
- GTM strategy slowly taking shape
Bad news:
- discovered bugs
- trademark may be in use
@quadlabsinc Next, we’re going to attack the legacy software supporting the university research industry.
After that? IP commercialisation; to ensure research meets the capital to be distributed to everyone, not just test subjects.

@quadlabsinc first ever tool is an ai native app that helps student plan their extracurriculars, and discover events on campus.
Ask our chatbot, “which events should I attend to get a job at McKinsey?” And it’ll give you a comprehensive list of consulting events.
