@Lons But it was totally worth it bc it was awesome. I was super pissed when the series didn’t actually end at book 10… but I sucked it up and waited almost three years for book 11. Which ALSO didn’t end the series and then Robert jordan DIED…

@Lons It seemed like they spent a lot of time saying “this is most powerful magic user in the land” or “the ultimate artifact” / platitudes you don’t feel yet vs GoT actually showed you Tyrion’s humor or Sansa’s naive wanting. Like 20 yrs ago it’d have been great

@Lons I think in an era where GoT did such an amazing job making you care about characters in the first minute of meeting them, WoT had a really hard time making the connection. Even knowing who I should care about they all came off as really flat
