Nor does peacemaking require that we agree with the ideas or opinions of others.

What peacemaking refers to, as declared by President Nelson, is HOW we disagree and discuss those disagreements.

President Nelson said, "how we speak to and about others at home, at church, at work, and online really matters."

When watching his 2023 talk, what stands out to me is not the different methods we use to resolve disagreements, but rather how we view those we disagree with and the ways we communicate with them when expressing our opinions.

Your words can reflect the spirit of contention or the spirit of charity. Contention is a choice and peacemaking is a choice. That choice is up to you.

If you want to be a peacemaker and understand what peacemaking truly is, this talk is the best place to start.
