@WillyRice Please make every effort to maximize the available time to attend to business matters. Messengers sacrifice time and money to make the trip, and to be told at the microphone that we've run out of time (that was only a few minutes to begin with) is deeply frustrating.
@mattmillsap@JakeRainwater I appreciate that response- but in terms of #3, wouldn't that still be seen as a form of religious discrimination? Like, you can be Muslim, just not "that" kind of Muslim.
@bartbarber I get that to a point. I think a similar thing could be said about the convention sermon. It's wonderful and edifying, but all of our messengers are hearing preaching each week, we've just had a pastors' conference...give Tues and Wed wholly to the business we've come for.
@bartbarber I agree with the brother who motioned for there to be less singing and more discussion- people are coming from all over the country to do business, and to be told that we're out of time when we just sang (again) for 10 minutes is frustrating.
@davemitz I think this is an important point- how many mainline churches are actively pursuing the Great Commission today? And how do we think they got to that place...?
@edromine In your experience, do most Mormons not put much stock in Joseph Smith's teachings anymore? Or (like many nominal Christians) do they just not know a lot about what they "should" believe?
@birdchadlouis I've been utilizing your resources on the Aaronic blessing in Num 6:22-27. Do we have an idea of how frequently that blessing was pronounced (once/daily/weekly/yearly/etc)?
