UMBC vs Howard:
UMBC’s identity is built on offensive efficiency and ball security. The Retrievers rank 72nd nationally in effective Field Goal Percentage (eFG%) at 54.2%, and they are among the best in the country at protecting the ball, averaging just 9.6 turnovers per game (Top 40 in D-I). The offense is led by DJ Armstrong Jr., who is shooting 42.0% from three-point range and entering the tournament after hitting 7 threes in the America East championship game.
Howard, however, brings its best defense in over a decade, currently sitting at 123rd in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency. The Bison specialize in creating chaos, forcing turnovers on over 21% of opponent possessions (8th in the country) and averaging 8.7 steals per game. They are anchored by MEAC Defensive Player of the Year Cedric Taylor III and Bryce Harris, both of whom average 17.1 PPG. While UMBC has the edge in shooting, Howard holds a significant advantage on the glass with a +4.9 rebounding margin compared to UMBC’s +2.3.
I see this being a close low scoring game.

Congratulations to Mike Kilgore! He is our Salina Central Teacher of the Month! The poor guy had to make his own plaque. At least you won’t have any trouble reading it. #WeRSC
Yesterday was the conclusion of our annual toy drive. The men of SigEp collected toys over the course of last month and donated them to local families last night. Thank you to our philanthropy chair Dillon Wells for setting this up!
