@nateberkopec 33 and just started running again. Hoping to do some marathons and ultras next year. I wanted to be a gym bro when I was younger but it just never worked out π
So I put a small site together. If you'd be interested in attending the Ruby Magic Conference in Orlando (hopefully late 2027), I'd love it if you'd visit the site and let me know: https://t.co/auqwpKRtOW
Now starts the process of looking for sponsors so I can determine what ticket prices and speaker budget will be. Please reach out if you are interested.
It isn't official until it is on https://t.co/aVVjPTaFP6 so today Blastoff Rails 2027 is officially happening! June 10-11 are our dates and our venue will once again be the wonderful Albuquerque Museum.
At this point I don't think we have to do the whole "I made- I mean Claude made this sweet tool this afternoon". Just say you made it. I get what you mean. You don't say "I made- I mean Vitamix made a great smoothie this morning."
This was a really good writeup from @mattsolt about the state of Ruby and Rails right now (prompted by the dhh keynote of course) with links to awesome writing from others. Took me all morning to get through it and I am very glad I did. Highly recommend.

thanks for the long and detailed reply. I'll think about it more to give it the time it deserves. I think you're responding a bit more to David than to me, but that's OK. I don't think crapping out code is the endgame as I think my other tweets reveal.
I think a big part of the answer to some of your questions is going to be "what OSS communities will actually embrace and allow these kinds of drastic changes to be made?" people change slower than software.
