@DannyMarang I’m not going to argue that I don’t wish we had Balmer as the owner. But we have the owner we have and if he’s going to care about the bottom line it’s objectively not a bad thing that the team has financial flexibility with their head coach.
@DannyMarang Teams that spend on talent. So if I’ve got a “broke” owner who is counting penny’s how is it not good as a fan if the head coach of the team is on a team friendly deal that makes it more likely for him to be replaced if he sucks?
@DannyMarang Do contract sizes matter in baseball where there is no salary cap and 90% of the league doesn’t sniff the tax? Yes, because billionaires are cheap and care about the bottom line so it impacts how the rest of the roster shapes up. Flexibility is good to have with a “broke” owner.
@ClemensTrevor I mean…
D-Rose peak: 25/8/3 on 45/33/86
Wall peak: 23/11/4 on 45/33/80
Their careers are so similar it’s just D-Rose’s major injury hit so much earlier.
@ClemensTrevor Yeah I definitely don’t think it’s some upgrade but if you’re asking for next year if I’d rather have Beal and Collins or just Norm it’s a pretty easy answer for me.
@ClemensTrevor Yeah he’s definitely not a star anymore but I think at this point they are both pretty efficient scoring guards who don’t play much defense. Norm plays a little more defense and Beal is a little more capable of a playmaker.
@ClemensTrevor True. But Norm Powell has also been traded for the corpse of Eric Bledsoe and Justise Winslow and then was traded for the expiring contracts of Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson. Feels like if he was owed $100+ million over the next 2 years he would be a waive/stretch candidate too.
@ClemensTrevor Agreed even though I was surprised how good Beal’s numbers were when I looked them up. But he seems like a reasonable Powell replacement which would mean they basically picked up John Collins for free. The West is insane.
Sources: The fear is Bucks star Damian Lillard suffered a left Achilles tear. Brutal circumstance after working himself back from a blood clot diagnosis that kept him out over a month.
@ClemensTrevor Yeah I just don’t get it. Either they played so poorly yesterday they would have probably lost to any of the other playoff teams or they’re so overmatched by OSU they would have lost to them eventually anyway. Either way it was an awesome season and yesterday sucked.
@DouglasTS Seems like if they were going to think about dropping Penn state behind Ohio state for losing a conference title game they wouldn’t have Penn state at 3 right now. It would take an embarrassing loss to Oregon to drop them 4 spots I think.
@DouglasTS Not sure how it’s possible that asu would pass Boise if they both win out at this point. Both play crap teams this week and teams ranked 15-25 in conference title games.
