@klarnaseb I think a lot of creators and white collar workers are feeling this existential threat to their (my own) career evaporating.
Years ago I did photography and saw smartphones coming and shifted to video.
And now, since Covid, I've seen video explode and starting to impload w/ ai.
@marti911992@liftblog They can't pay their employees the cost of 1 lift ticket, that's wrong.
They can pay how much in executive bonuses though?
Employees fighting for medical benefits and a raise to $23/hr starting - way less than $329/day lift ticket.
@TJ_Os23@liftblog@PCski Itโs disappointing that the #Union walked out on productive conversations and instead took drastic action during the holidays,โ Rock said, โgiven that we had reached agreements on a vast majority of the contract points.โ
#Rejects:
- won't accept $23/hr vs $21
- medical coverage
@ferrants@liftblog Ridiculous they can't pay their employees more than the price of 1 lift ticket.
Rock said Vail Resorts is negotiating in good faith. So, if lift lines and response times are infuriatingly long, he indicated guests need look no further than the picket lines
@liftblog Employees strike because work has become impossible to move forward without change.
When news stories don't mention WHY the employees are on strike, it shows the news is owned by an anti-union owner.
Why are they on strike?
How is it that all the stations don't mention why?
@valerwright Hi Val, I sent an email but it may have landed in your spam folder. Haven't heard back so figured you must not be getting it or I needed to speak louder :)
@joejoekinkyjoe@kare11 Well, I was there so I can only vouch for the Bernese Mountain Dog event in St Paul today. But maybe I'm just Ai and even I'm fake? #mightbe#nsjs
โIโm here for the Bernese Mountain Dog event,โ said Travis Johansen. โYesterday it was a little bit little dicey. Today it feels like a heatwave.โ
