Paul Skenes was driving by a Little League field and decided to stop by 🥹
He played catch and talked with the kids for over two hours the night before he pitches against the Dodgers at PNC Park 👏

This sucks.
Dan Lucy is and was the consummate professional who did TV sports the right way.
This is a huge L for the Ozarks, and a total lack of respect for an employer to just usher history out the door with no fanfare whatsoever.
It amazes me how the local media outlets continue to devalue the importance and viewership of sports ... usually to increase the ridiculous amount of weather coverage we get now in these station wars.
There weren't 2,000 Willard residents at Ozark Mountain Sports Complex Saturday night waiting for the weather guy to grab a mic and tell them what Sunday's forecast would be.
"But nobody watches sports."
Do they ever stop to think that maybe if the sports segments were not constantly shortened, viewership might increase?
I have an app at my fingertips for weather, 24/7.
I don't have that for local sports. I relied on local sports folks like Dan to film it, talk about it and show it to me.
Best wishes, Dan.
You were awesome.
And you deserved better.
Denny Hamlin said preparations for his Kyle Busch tribute after winning Michigan began Monday, given there was a chance he might tie Busch on the all-time wins list this weekend. There was stuff to work through, including trademarks, but RCR allowed JGR to use the Busch stylized No. 8 for Hamlin's flag and hat.
"I just wanted to pay my respects to someone that I really did look up to and taught me so much as a teammate. There's nothing we can say or do that's gonna make his family feel better, but at least during that little time you can pay him the respects that he deserves."
@jeff_gluck joked that Kyle would've been so pissed at Hamlin tying his win mark, which got a chuckle out of the room including Denny. "He would've been pissed today, absolutely. But I would've said to him, 'you'll be around here longer. You'll get me back.'"
Jim Harbaugh says the same thing to his teams before every game.
It's not a hype speech and it's not about the scoreboard - it's meant to remove the feeling of pressure.
It's a simple three-line message.
Here's what it is...
Jim Harbaugh says,
“Play as hard as you can.
Play as fast as you can.
For as long as you can.
Keep your wits about you.
And don't worry.”
It’s simple and powerful and anchors you on the present moment.
Let me explain why it works...
Because it shifts your mind from fear to action.
Don’t overthink...Just go and do. Attack the moment.
It removes the distraction of worrying to focus on the work.
When you focus on the work, you free yourself from outcomes.
Listen to Harbaugh explain it in the video because this mindset shifts your focus to action and the work - play hard, play fast, don’t overthink.
• Pressure can tighten you up.
• Worry will slow you down.
This frees you up to compete.
The quote and idea for this post comes from Jim Harbaugh's interview with @GlueGuys_Pod.
Nobody talks about the lonely part.
“People always talk about talent, but what they don’t wanna talk about is loneliness. The empty gym…”
- Larry Bird
Confidence.
Nobody gives it to you.
You build it rep by rep.
In the gym when no one’s watching. https://t.co/4zIilqfX40
