🚨 BREAKING: Reform UK responds to the alleged secret donations to the party

"Reform UK has been the target of a hoax perpetuated by foreign-funded, climate change activists posing as would-be party donors. The party denies any wrongdoing.

"Reform UK has a robust vetting process for prospective donors approved by the Electoral Commission. We also have written KC legal opinion showing no laws have been broken. A private individual paid for polling to a private company and the private company gave it to national newspapers. This would only need to be declared if it were internal polling.

"The hoaxers are ‘Verbatim Investigations’; a new company, incorporated in July 2026 in an attempt to mask their true identity: the Center for Climate Reporting (CCR). The methods of its founder, Lawrence Carter, have previously been rebuked by members of the United States Congress for “videos [that] appear to be substantially edited, creating an incomplete record of the conversation.”

When the casting for CARA was announced, I had more than one person emailing in to inform me that I was hiring a Nazi and that they would destroy my film, campaigns would be organised against it, etc etc.

That "Nazi"? @DreyfusJames, who - in my experience - is a genuinely great actor who would be an abysmally poor Nazi.

Naturally, I was very forthright in my responses. But I've also had actors saying they'd like to work with me, but they're concerned about the association. I guess I must be one of those "Nazis" as well.

In the arts, the pressure is very real and still a constant. Unless more people step up and respond with "Fuck off!" to these people, we're going to be left with talentless ideologues checking every box nobody should care about.

The moral of this story? When people try to browbeat you into submission, don't appeal to them, don't apologise, don't "debate", just tell them loudly and clearly to FUCK OFF.

@DeanEggitt Agreed a pharmacist is best place for a medication review as they are more knowledgeable with these. But, GP’s are vital for picking up problems just by looking at a patient especially young children and dementia patients who cannot voice their problems.

I have often thought that one of the ways to reduce cost as the NHS would be to centralise purchasing for all items from cotton wool buds to MRI machines.
These days Amazon boast that you can place an order at 10 am and it can be delivered by 4pm the same day.
Imagine a government contract awarded to Amazon to store in one central warehouse all NHS materials . Allowing every hospital in the UK to send orders for supplies.
Also imagine as an example of one item, how many cotton wool buds are sitting in stock at each and every hospital in the country. It will run into millions, whereas using the just in time ordering this stock pile would be massively reduced.
Further to this (and I maybe wrong) each hospital have buyers for all supplies. They are able to use any supplier they choose and I am sure not at the best prices . Centralised supplies offers great negotiation power with suppliers.

@sajidjavid You need to look at the quality of mental health professionals. You can eventually persuade your loved one to seek help but if they’re told that there’s nothing much wrong with them and to take some anti depressants, they disengage and the worst can happen.
