@Tray_Cob@SandyofSuffolk Why doesn’t the CEO of Apple work in an Apple Store? Because teams and hierarchies exist. Just because a GP can do an annual chronic disease review why should they when other team members can do the task as effectively? Save GPs’ time for tasks only they can do.
@DrRJWebb Do we have to balance the genders though? Provided female applicants were interviewed for the role, if the five offered the job were the best candidates doesn’t that suffice?
@DeanEggitt This wouldn’t need any involvement from the GP if the person who had diagnosed a fractured femur in hospital had appropriately managed the patient and provided adequate analgesia.
@MLoopyP@ChrissiG13@AlisonGeorge10@SKinnock@UKLabour@wesstreeting ‘Private’ is a bit of a misnomer- they are private businesses but providing NHS services under a GMS/PMS contract means the partners have to follow the rules of that contract, even when imposed against their will. Breach the contract and it gets taken away.
@MLoopyP@ChrissiG13@AlisonGeorge10@SKinnock@UKLabour@wesstreeting GPs didn’t agree to A&G. These contractual changes were imposed by the government. GPs are so against these imposed changes that 99% of BMA member GPs voted to reject. GPs are fighting for patients and being lambasted from all sides

@MLoopyP@AlisonGeorge10@SKinnock@UKLabour@wesstreeting Why to the GP?? They’re the one person that wants you to be seen by a specialist. Why burden the GP with extra administration when the hospital has decided not to accept the referral?
