@acshapiro @singhcredible I have this same question. I’ve been using it to help ease / avoid plantar fasciitis, but only for the past week or so. Would appreciate feedback from anyone who’s been using them longer.
@fabio_mologni@singhcredible Although this is conceptually true (use something long enough and it wears down), it’s also true that 1) w/ our bodies, strength and growth happen first, and 2) the lifetime amount of running needed to reach the “wear down” point is likely more than 99% of people will ever run.
My LOL moment of the week on the @SlateGabfest (and I mean this in good fun): Emily: “…doesn’t this seem like Qatar kinda won, alongside Argentina?” John: “Well, they won on the bodies of hundreds of migrant workers, who are dead.” 😳😄😄
@SpencerGauldin @JohnDiesattheEn I felt the same way (a bit baffled) reading the thread. Maybe it’s because he is a writer, so it’s harder for some movies to break through because he’s so familiar with character/story tropes? Cameron writes straightforward, general-audience characters. Maybe not complex enough?
@_creddy_ @JohnDiesattheEn Sometimes I think if you let go of your analytical brain for a bit and just enjoy the movie, then afterward you find that there *was* a lot of depth there. Sometimes we’re just not willing to go with it, so we miss a lot of what’s actually there.
@Iapetus52638899 @JohnDiesattheEn I think you’re right - definitely could’ve been avoided with different parenting. I think a lot of fathers (maybe less so these days?) get into that kind of “respect me and do what I say” dynamic with their kids and it’s like they can’t / don’t know how to get out of it. 🙁
@Iapetus52638899 @JohnDiesattheEn That part really got me. In general the dynamic between Jake and the older brother is somewhat reflected in my own life, so later when some things happen that I won’t spoil, it connected strongly with me.
