I love reading David’s crash-outs in the Psalms. 😭 One minute he’s praising God, the next he’s pouring out his frustration about evil, injustice, and why the wicked seem to prosper. It’s comforting to know that even a man after God’s own heart brought his hardest questions to God.
that's it, I've had enough of millennial slander. pockets in dresses are good, drinking out of mason jars is fun, side parts look nicer on most women, "Home" is a delightful song. everyone knock it off
“My OCD won’t let me be messy”
That’s nice, my OCD tells me I may lose control when holding a knife.
My OCD tells me my unplugged straightener will somehow burn my house down.
My OCD tells me I may somehow have drugs on me in the security line at the airport.
My OCD tells me if I don’t say a prayer the “right” way, someone I love will die.
My OCD tells me if I don’t check to see the door is locked 12 times that someone will break in and murder me.
My OCD tells me touching that doorknob means I just caught a deadly disease.
My OCD isn’t a preference for clean countertops or organization. It’s living with a brain that treats every “what if” like an emergency.
If you suddenly want to cut your hair, rearrange your place, or get rid of half your closet, it's your soul preparing you for a new era and needs the old energy cleared out first. Trust the pull. Change is good. Your soul is making room because something beautiful is on the way.
@McJuggerNuggets I became moderately disabled at 24, not long after my wedding, and having been perfectly healthy until then. It can happen at any point in a person's life. Shame on you. May your baby rest in the arms of Jesus.
sometimes I wonder what it feels like to truly live instead of just survive. to wake up without already feeling behind. to breathe without carrying the weight of yesterday, and to exist without constantly fearing what might go wrong
