Two years ago crypto and nfts changed my life.

Now im broke again, but i dont regret nothing, as i lived the best live possible for 2 years and i have faith i can do it all over again.

At the end of 2023 i was working a very boring and underpaid job, was kinda broke and i decided to pay more attention to this space.

I bought a Midjourney subscription and started minting AI art, when it was still not so popular.

Made a couple of hundred dollars in eth and i was the happiest person on earth.

I realized it was possible to earn outside of your job.

Then, around January 2024 some people here on the “Ex Twitter” started talking about Frames and Farcaster.

My curiosity pushed me over there, only to discover so many passionate people about crypto and nfts gathered in one place.

Kept minting and sharing my art receiving great appreciation on Farcaster.

Sold over 2000 pieces between Foundation, Zora and Rodeo.

Almost all of them at a very reasonable price, but it still made me thousands of dollars. So i was, once again, the happiest person on earth.

Then, the Degen tipping boom happened, along with Ciniz’s onchain gaias and frames to collect.

Where almost everyone was exchanging and selling their allowance tips, i was using it to bless as many people as possible.

Which increased my influence and my allowance, which also meant I could spread money with even more people.

For this reason, people loved me and tipped me a lot.

So this is where i made tens of thousands of dollars.
Money i would earn in 2-3 years of my old stupid job.

And i never sold all the degen i earned, otherwise i would have probably made over 100k.

You can imagine what this meant for a 27 year old kid who’s been poor all his life..

So i said f**k you to my boss, quit my job and started living life.

Travelled the world, met so many amazing people, even friends i made here in the space.

Spent months traveling through Spain, Netherlands, Prague, Italy, Switzerland, Romania, France, Croatia, Malta, South Korea, Japan, Thailand..

Now my wallets are empty, i dont have a job and i still have bills go pay, but im filled with unforgettable memories and wonderful feelings.

But most of all, i now have the spirit to do it all over again.

Because i’ve seen that it’s possible.

And because i’ve seen how much beauty there is out there.

Every morning my toaster burns my bread exactly the same way: slightly on the left, like it has a personal vendetta.

Yesterday I finally yelled at it: “Why do you hate me?!”

The toaster popped two slices, then in a deep robot voice said:

“Because you never toast me back, Trebor.”

Then it launched my bagel like a missile. It stuck to the ceiling.

Now the toaster is unionized. It demands butter rights and has recruited the microwave. They’re currently plotting against the fridge.

I sleep with one eye open and a fire extinguisher.

Crypto permanently breaks how you see money. There's no fixing it.

I used to make $13 an hour at a sandwich shop. $1,500 every two weeks. I thought that was just how life worked.

Then I made that in one trade... in minutes.

You cannot go back after that. You physically cannot sit in a job and pretend it makes sense anymore. Once you've seen it enough times, your brain just breaks.

It's the thing nobody warns you about. It's not that the money makes you greedy. It's that your entire perception of time and value gets rewired.

But here's what scares me more than anything.

How many people have tasted life changing amounts of money, lost it all, and are back to the 9-to-5 right now? I think about that number often.

They wake up every morning with that memory. That's not poverty. It's torture.

I let that image live in my head rent free. Every trade, every single day. That guy exists and I refuse to become him.

Protect your portfolio like your old life is waiting to take you back.

Because, for many people, it already did.
