TFA Cymru Chair, Dennis Matheson was at Buckingham Palace on 18 December 2024 to receive his MBE, 🎖️ awarded in His Majesty the King’s 2024 New Year Honours list.
Congratulations Dennis for all that you have done for @TFACymru and the tenanted sector of Agriculture in Wales.
@endlibtyranny@GSGB01@ArlaFoodsUK I’m thinking about the risks exposed to the poor sods who have to handle the additive, you only have to read the label to realise its dangers!
The Team from TFA Cymru are out and about at this year's #WelshWinterFair. LOTS of Lobbying and meetings lie ahead for @georgewdunn@treiddon and Dennis Matheson MBE as they discuss challenges and needs of the tenanted sector of agriculture
@Rob__Hitch@HefinR@OliverRyanUK@tenantfarmers With BPR and APR now firmly two sides of the same coin the rules of engagement have fundamentally changed. Now is the time to finesse this.
One of the unintended consequences of the budget is the effect on @tenantfarmers who will be given notice to quit on their businesses by landlords affected by the change in APR & BPR rules

@RobertHodgkins1@LeedhamAlan@ProagriLtd@jamesrbuk But those tenants don’t need to find money for infrastructure, as that’s the responsibility of the owner. Nothing is as clear cut as you imagine. This tax will also finish some landlords, and that opportunity to rent will be lost!
@FGRachaelBrown@FarmersGuardian I’d answer this by asking them to look at the average farm profit per acre (after bank payments) over the last ten years, then project it for the next ten years, and make the tax repayment figures work!
@carryonkeith But as they rent it out they enable a tenant to get a foothold into farming, without them there’s no certain way for new blood to enter the industry, and family farms will just morph into faceless corporate mega farms.
