i genuinely think this album is way more revolutionary sonically in terms of Madonna's sonic identity than COADF was. thats why its only under ROL as my current second favorite. but again, these are my initial impressions.

Confessions II is headed for UK number one.

Madonna's sequel to 2005's Confessions On A Dancefloor opens with 37,106 sales at the first midweek flash - 30,113 of them physical.

If it holds, it's her first UK No.1 album since 2012's MDNA, joining Like A Virgin, Ray Of Light and Music.

The rest of the midweek chart: Sienna Spiro's debut Visitor at No.2 (14,234), Olivia Rodrigo at No.3 (6,331).
