@nickghoffman@LauraRbnsn I don’t understand why you took issue with her answer. 1) She gave a preface that context matters. This is fair since you asked her as an academic and she is drawing the line across cultures to answer. 2) She did give you practical advice: being cooperative in a marriage.
@amolinguas Heiser explicitly believed that salvation was through faith (believing-loyalty) in Christ.
The “forgotten knowledge” he taught about was not a requirement for salvation (unlike gnostics).
@amolinguas The crazy thing about all of this is that he uses the term “gnostic” just to mean “secret knowledge.” Like brother that’s not what Gnosticism is. Heiser wasn’t over here teaching about demiurges or that the material world was bad.
Our daughter, Asha, has made it through the first stage of the bone marrow transplant intended to cure her leukemia. This week she will be tested for residual cancer. This test is critical. I ask you to pray for her and the test's result.
@Jeff_Palouse Matthew 5.18 says that not one iota or jot will pass away “until all ‘come to pass’,” not that the iota or jot will come to pass.
(ἕως ἂν) is a repeat of the beginning of the line “until the heavens and the earth…” So do you think the heavens and the earth have passed away?
@picklebll@cuatronelson If you’re going to do a visual, this is a waste of a visual.
I’m actually ok with visuals, I just think visuals should actually be of quality.

@jasonstaples@JoshPhillipsPhD Our bookstore is constantly trying to push e-book editions. If I’m going to buy a book at full cost, I want the physical. I especially don’t want to pay for something I’m going to lose access to when I graduate.
As 16-year-old Justus Eichhorn shows, young men become great by being formed by sages, not isolated in rooms with peers playing games and eating pizza. Get your kids to some sages!
