I’m building THE ORB LIGHT: a website you can explore through glass, motion and sound.
Click. Turn. Speak. Watch it respond.
Sound on for the full experience. Would you try it?
@AugustCastilIo Making the game, visuals and music together is such an interesting approach. I’ve been working on sound for an interactive web project, and it’s amazing how much audio changes the way an interaction feels. Did you design the music around the gameplay or the other way around?
@xiaowj1989 I’m finding that the hardest part of working with AI isn’t generating things anymore, it’s keeping everything visually consistent. Really interesting to see how you’ve connected different tools into one workflow.
@Belbizaz The fact that we’re building entire interactive worlds in the browser now is still crazy to me. I’m working on a much smaller 3D experience, and even getting the interactions to feel right takes so much iteration. How many versions did this go through?
@francescoinweb3 I really like this approach. Turning information into a little world feels so much more engaging than a traditional explainer. I’ve been experimenting with how to present my own interactive work, and storytelling through movement is something I want to explore more.
@viktoroddy This is such a good example of making something functional actually enjoyable to use. I’ve been thinking a lot about how interaction can become part of the design itself. Do you think this approach could work for more everyday software too?
@azygod All of this in one HTML file is wild. I love how much atmosphere you can create with just light and movement. I’ve been experimenting with lighting in Three.js, and the smallest adjustments can change everything.
@RyanSael I love when 3D is used to explain something rather than just look impressive. I’ve been exploring interactive experiences with Three.js too, and making them feel intuitive is such a challenge. What was the hardest part to get right here?
@chrstinalu@figma@miggi@jchenwan Ohhh that makes so much more sense now! I actually love that approach, especially the randomization. Have you tried animating the seed transitions? I feel like watching the patterns slowly transform could look amazing.
@arturitu Oh that’s even better than I imagined! I love the idea of the environment responding to the real world. Have you thought about letting the room evolve as you complete focus sessions? Could be a really nice way to visualize progress without adding another productivity dashboard.
@chrstinalu@figma@miggi@jchenwan Ohh that’s even cooler than I thought! Love that each square has its own shader. The randomization must create some really interesting combinations. Have you found any unexpected results while playing with it?
@chrstinalu@figma@miggi@jchenwan Afterimage is such a nice thing to build a shader around, it's basically the eye's own motion blur. Is the trail feeding back on the previous frame, or drawn from a stored history?
@Rahzell83 ohh I’d love to see how that turns out!! especially with the thinner branches moving a little more than the heavier ones. keep me updated :)
@Aaron_1337 Thank you so much!! 🖤 I use Pinterest and X a lot for inspiration, then Claude to explore my ideas and Codex to help me build them. Three.js is behind the interactive 3D elements.
Still learning and experimenting with everything as I go! Really appreciate you checking it out :)
@threejs this is so cool!! i’ve been experimenting with three.js to make glass feel like something you can actually touch. seeing projects like this makes me want to push it even further
@b1rkh0ff I've been using Claude to plan motion scenes, then recording real interactions and refining the sound and timing. Still experimenting!
Here's my interactive 3D project: https://t.co/1hBNqlVmjx
Would love your feedback! :)
@Aaron_1337 Thank you Aaron!! Here's my latest project: https://t.co/1hBNqlVmjx
It's still a work in progress! I also share experiments, ideas and things I'm testing (but haven't implemented yet) here on my X profile.
Would love to hear your thoughts, any feedback is always welcome! :)
@zanwei_guo Ohh that makes sense! The way the colors blend and flow out of the logo is actually what caught my attention the most. Such a cool result!!
@jh3yy Ohh that's so cool! I love how even the sound changes depending on the material. It's such a small detail but makes the whole experience feel so much more real. I'd love to experiment with this in my own project too!
@desgnwitkinsley Nice base for it! Small tip from building interactive stuff: decide what it should *feel* like first (soft, snappy, heavy), then the animation choices get easy. What feeling are you going for?
@Nacho_Gavilanes "Just turning pixels on/off" is the most humble way to describe something this good 😄 Constraints like this always end up looking more original than anything with a full engine behind it.
