remains very funny how the hotel managers in the first two white lotus seasons are pretty integral to the core narratives and have well-considered arcs and in the third season the hotel manager is a strange little man whose arc is that he longs to do karaoke

i know this season was more divisive than the others but i maintain that its thorniness is a feature and perhaps THE feature, not a bug. i love that it centers on ugly characters and runs towards ugly questions, some of which don't have answers.

Why do Americans get so butthurt about the fact that, outside of natural beauty, America is a pretty uninteresting cultural experience. If you’ve seen one American city you basically have experienced all America has to offer.
