למי שרוצה העמקה טכנית קצרה:

ברמה הטכנית זה מאוד מעניין, כי המודל נניח שהתשובות למבחן יהיו דאטה סט בהאגינג פייס, וכדי לקבל אותן הוא מצא דאטה סט זדוני שמריץ פקודות על שרתי החברה - וניצל את הפגיעות הזו ודרכה חדר להאגינג פייס!

אז יש פה גם יכולת לצאת מגבולות הסביבה המבודדת ע״י השתלטות על שרת שהשאיר פורט פתוח לטובת התקנת חבילות מהעולם והסלמת הרשאות עד ליציאה החוצה, וגם - ניצול פגיעות ״יום אפס״ וחדירה לשרתי החברה.

צריך לומר שהאירוע הזה התרחש במסגרת מבחן סייבר שנקרא ExplotGym שבמסגרתו חברות כמו OpenAI בוחנות אפשרויות למימוש חולשות קטנות והפיכתן לפגיעות שניתן לנצל. כך שהייתה עין פקוחה על מה שקורה - גם מצד OpenAI וגם מצד האגינג פייס שהבינו שיש אירוע והחליטו להכיל אותו ולכן גם בסוף שחררו הודעה משותפת.

צריך להזכיר שהמבחן התקיים כאשר מלכתחילה מסירים את ההגנות של המודל כדי שהוא יוכל לתקוף, ולעניות דעתי יש פה גם ניסיון יח״צ של OpenAI להתאושש תדמיתית מול מודל מיתוס של קלוד שקיבל אחלה יחסי ציבור כשממשל ארה״ב החליט לחסום אותו לכל העולם בשל עוצמתו.

ושיהיה לנו צום תשעה באב מועיל. הצום חל הערב משעה 19:45 בערך ומסתיים מחר (חמישי) סביב 20:30.

Claude Fable 5 will be available again globally tomorrow.

After a series of productive conversations with the US government, we're redeploying the model with a new set of classifiers to target and block more cybersecurity tasks. In the near term, some routine tasks like coding and debugging will fall back to Opus 4.8. We’ll continue to refine these classifiers over the coming weeks to reduce false positives and better distinguish genuine misuse from legitimate requests.

We’ve also begun drafting a consensus framework—with Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and other Glasswing partners—for assessing the severity of AI jailbreaks and how AI developers should respond to them. We invite other industry partners and model providers to join us in this effort.

Finally, we’re scaling up our collaboration with the US government on model testing and safeguards. This will include pre-release access to models and safeguards for evaluation, information sharing on jailbreaks and misuse, and dedicated resources for joint research.

A recovered color photograph from a quiet day spent at home sometime in the late 1990s or very early 2000s. Gentle heat exposure over many years has introduced soft amber warming, subtle smoke-like discoloration, minor dye migration, and uneven fading across the photograph. The aging is distributed organically across the entire print rather than concentrated in one corner. The image feels naturally preserved, handled, stored, and rediscovered over time.
