Detractors may call this old school thinking
But the best coaches and athletes in the world call it principled thinking
In a world where velocity is king, let’s not forget the foundations that have helped thousands get there
Velocity
Kids don’t develop throwing velocity by throwing 70 max effort pitches every weekend in a tournament and chasing numbers on the radar gun. They don’t develop it by throwing plyo balls and they don’t develop it by focusing on spin rate or any other advanced metric
If they haven’t done all of that for ten + years, they are leaving potential on the table. And there is NO reason to be focused on advanced protocols or obsessing with the radar guns
My Instagram reels green screen feature was compromised by the recent instagram update. The background video quality is now extremely poor. All my videos are high quality recordings on iPhone 16 pro, and this was not an issue before the update
Has anyone else experience this?
S&C Twitter is such a wild place
Coaches literally argue about whether it’s appropriate to say “good” when an athlete performs a movement correctly. Unreal 😂
Can only imagine what these people would be like in person… insufferable
Adjusting to a bad hop on a ground ball is one of the most athletic moves in sport. Subconscious detection of a rapid change in ball trajectory, followed by a reactive/explosive displacement of hands/hips/knees, all while expressing fine motor skill to cleanly field the ball ⚾️⚡️
