フレイたちヘリオポリスの学生たちは、カガリやラクスに比べたら普通の子どもでもあるけど、ナチュラルでは恵まれた育ちの優秀な子どもなんですよね。

フレイも外交官である父親を亡くしてもただ嘆き悲しむだけではなく、後ろ盾を失った自分が無力だというのも理解している。
コーディネイターに復讐できるような地位や能力がなかったから、自分が唯一持っている『女』の身体を使い、キラを取り込んで利用した。
だからキラと親しくしているカガリを警戒していたし、外見を化粧品で磨くしかなかった。

でも、頭が良くてもやっぱりまだ愚かな子どもなんですよね。
キラやサイを傷つけて、自分自身も傷ついて、それでも得ようとしたものは、一人で外の世界に出て、初めて何も意味がないということに気がついた。
キラ一人で敵を全滅させるなんて、できるわけないんです。

『化け物』であるコーディネイターの中で一人きりという経験でキラの孤独を初めて実感して、頼るものがなくても一人でも生きていかないといけないという現実に自分ができることをやろうと努力して、怖がっていた戦闘も逃げずに直視して見るまでに成長できた。
生々しい女の業が見せる切実な美しさ、生きている間にキラには再会できなかったという結末まで含めて、カガリと共にMSで戦うだけではない女性側の『戦争』の物語のキーパーソンとして、フレイを描き切っていたと思います。
