@SoundTransit@Alerts_ST people have been waiting on a southbound train at Capitol Hill for nearly 20 minutes with no notifications for whatβs causing the delay. People are complaining and the platform is nearly full. Please add better announcements for delays like these.
I donβt tweet much these days, but seeing this pissed me off. As a fellow alumni Iβd just like to say, shame on @LSU for celebrating someone who has spent his entire career fighting against the rights of anyone who isnβt straight, male and Christian.
BREAKING: Two-time LSU alumnus @RepMikeJohnson is the first person from Louisiana and first LSU grad in history to be elected Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Johnson is a Shreveport native with a bachelorβs degree in business administration from @LSUOursoCollege in 1995 and a Juris Doctor from @LSULawCenter in 1998.
This is such an asshole move. As someone who walks most places, if you don't stop for someone crossing in front of you because you think you "have time to get through," fuck you. It feels really unsafe to have a car fly through a crosswalk when you're still in it.
One of the most bullish / exciting things I've seen on Tesla Full Self-Driving Beta 11.4.1.
It detected the pedestrian, but rather than slamming on the brakes it just proceeded through like a human would knowing there was enough time to do so.
It would be cheaper to give every transit rider a brand new Tesla and replace that Tesla every six years than continuing to operate our transit system in San Diego County. π€―
It's a hot take, but I am really tired of Seattle urbanists making excuses for and even celebrating developers providing the absolute bare minimum in new multifamily. CLT is awesome and overall I'm happy to see this replacing parking, but damn these units are so so small.
@Danielhep@dmholmer My understanding is that there are major risks that stem from the soil conditions and the adjacent BNSF lines. Early engineering analysis indicated that it would require highly complex methods of construction.
@kipxdynamite I'd probably recommend both, but I'm no expert. I think the pad might be a bit better given that they like to sleep under things, but the lamp could help simulate daytime if the enclosure doesn't get a ton of natural light.
There's something to be said for the fact that our roads are crafted with a higher design speed than what's posted, we should design to prevent speeding when possible. However, this shouldn't be interpreted as a reason to forgo enforcement that can prevent dangerous behavior.
The problem is bus lanes make driving in the city that much more miserable. And the more miserable/expensive you make driving & parking, the less those of us who live in the suburbs will come into the city. And we're essential to the well being of restaurants, shops, etc.
If a heavy-handed approach to zoning wins the day in Olympia, all the citizen involvement in the Comprehensive Plan process may come to naught. https://t.co/bAQLiYrNO8
@dmholmer I can't wait to hear what they say is unsafe about that location. There's nothing more terrifying than an intersection featuring a juice bar, light rail station and delicious Himalayan food.
