@Paraic_Fanning It's like 1.3m people have no interest in hurling, outside a small loyal bunch.
When money was invested in Dublin to grow the game, to a chorus of moaning.
Absolutely pathetic attendance from Clare today, not coming off a hammering previous game & another game to attend 2morrow
@pieces0feight@KeithMillsD7 If we drop our vat rate on fuel, it needs to be dropped on everything at 23%, which isn't feasible but also would increase inflation.
*Haven't looked but believe you are quoting the old excise figures, before the temporary cuts were announced a few weeks ago.
@saloreilly Very simple, it's a subsidy instead of an actual out right vat rate cut.
I assume they've worked with EU on this, and of course it's a temporary measure.
Which is probably why our Gov have been reluctant to introduce similar policies because, of how long cuts can be in place
@daveyhannigan@NFL They're not getting a penny from the government. The government have underwritten 10m, which will be paid to the NFL, if for some reason the event had to be cancelled.
