VIDEO | Nepal: In the aftermath of the severe flash floods, entire riverside towns along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river corridors, including Rasuwagadhi, Timure and Trishuli Bazaar, have been transformed into wastelands.

Visuals show dilapidated residential structures, fallen trees, debris and mud covering the area. Areas that once bustled with markets are now buried under several feet of thick silt, with livelihoods destroyed.

🇳🇵 In Nepal, a mother thought both of her children had died at school because the flood took the building.

Zoyal Ghale, 8, ran into the trees and held on. Rescuers found him later with a broken leg and a cut-up face.

His mother, Matti Maya Tamang, walked from one list of names to the next until she stopped believing she would see them again: “I had already given up.”

Today she reached his bed in Kathmandu... She said finding him gave her life back.

Nepal and Tibet are still counting, with at least 580 dead and roughly 2,500 missing so far.

This is one of the names that came home.

Anjana Raja and Pattabiraman Venkatesan, a couple from the San Francisco Bay Area who were on a pilgrimage to Tibet, told CBS News' @RamyInocencio that they had just passed Timure headed to the Nepal-China border when what looked like a tsunami struck Wednesday while they were in their tour bus.
