@Ben_Aaronovitch I’ve never before reacted to reading something the way that one reacts to a jump-scare in a horror film. Finished reading Lies Sleeping today, and I properly flinched when Lesley did that one thing. My flatmate is still shooting me concerned glances. Kudos.
