@VadimYuryev does this seem logical?
Fall 2026:
M5 Pro/Max redesigned "Ultra" (replaces current Pro M5/M5 Max)
M6 Macbook Pro (replaces M5 Macbook Pro)
Spring/Summer 2026:
M7 Macbook Pro redesigned replaces M6 Macbook Pro
Fall 2027 - All Redesigned Lineup M7 Pro/Max
@tricaricoDesign I think it makes sense to keep the current design MacBook Pros with m5 Pro/Max for at least a year for the transition period.
There are many people out there who are skeptical about touchscreens and OLED.
Apple needs time to prove that they'll be reliable and work great.
@markgurman@VadimYuryev@markgurman is it possible that they are just redesigning the Pros entirely, instead of creating a new tier of Ultra? Same chips as current pros but new design, this way the old design isn't also on sale at the same time with the same chips?
@VadimYuryev@markgurman I agree Vadim. What makes no sense to me is are they really going to call these Macbook "Ultra" while not having an option for the M5 Ultra chip? Also calling them Ultra and having 8/9 month old M5 Pro/M5 Max chips in them? and also launching a base M6 Pro at the same time?
