This is the second #Landscapes#oilpaintings for our Southend Art Club (https://t.co/SoX4Y5jTH9 ) Spring Exhibition. It's Drome Valley Farm. Had a lot of problems with this. Third time I've tried. Previous two compositions didn't work.
Have two #oilpaintings for our Southend Art Club (https://t.co/SoX4Y5jTH9 ) Spring Exhibition. First is a Big Old Tree with Farm Track. From an old sketch lost and recently found. It's in the back of beyond, Drome Valley, France.
@falsewidows : Got bitten by one last October SS2 Southend on Sea, Essex. Killed it. Spent weeks rubbing antiseptic and antibiotic creams to keep skin infection down. Had operation this week to remove lump from under skin.
Not much painting done. Been fighting a deep lung infection and the bite of a false widow spider #falsewidowspider. Both cleared now. Have two #oilpaintings for an exhibition this week. I'll post when I have photos.
Got bitten by a #falsewidowspider on arm back in October. Spent 4 months rubbing in antiseptic and antibiotic creams to stop infection spreading. I was left with lump under the skin. Operation this week removed it.
Haven't done much #oilpaintings as I've been fighting a persistent cough. Had weeks of tests and it turns out to be a deep seated lung infection. Don't ignore that little cough, it could turn out to be something serious.
Painting has been quiet for a few weeks as I'm learning #pastel for the first time. In the meantime, hope you enjoy this #oilpaintings of the River Teifi near #lampeter in #Wales. It is 3ft by 2 ft (91cm by 61cm).
Here's another #oilpaintings in the #Luberon, southern #France . A simple triangular composition of a wheat field and a farm house near #Aups. I roam these little places free of tourists. Just me, the scene, some birdsong, and a canvas on the easel. Heaven!
Didn't realise I'd done so many #oilpaintings of the #Luberon region in southern #France Here's one of an uphill road near #Aups. I'd stopped for lunch here and got caught by the simple composition with just the road, grass verge and some rocks
Not much #oilpaintings done today! Spent the time priming some canvases and boards. Tedious job, but hey, painting isn't all about splashing the paint on for an instant masterpiece! I also hate cleaning brushes, but it's gotta be done, right?
2. Can't believe that a gazebo canopy that was only out for 3 summers could deteriorate so much in such a short space of time. Literally falling apart as I touched it. That was a Blooma Tenerife from B&Q.
1. Had to roll up the canopy of our gazebo due to high winds from #StormAli . It's a new canopy I had to make myself because the manufacturer doesn't do spare parts. At 6m by 3m it was no joke, but I got the materials and made a new one.
Another one of my #Landscapes#oilpaintings from the exhibition. It's a meadow with poppies near #corbieres in SW France. A week later and this was all scorched brown.
Just shown some #oilpaintings of #Landscapes at the autumn exhibition of the Southend Art Club https://t.co/7TtSV59wNj. This one is from a sketch I did over 30 years ago, an old abandoned farm track in #Provence .
This is my first ever outdoors #oilpainting from over 30 years ago. It's Route Napolean in southern France. I lost it for years then found it rolled up in a cardboard tube in the attic. Aah, nostalgia!
This is one of a series of meadow #oilpainting I've been experimenting with. Making sense of that formless mass of green foliage and wild flowers with just a brush and paint is quite an experience. It's in the #luberon in Southern France.
Watching HEROES season one on dvd just now. Saw it first time round. Can't believe it's been 12 years since they made it. One of the most innovative #scifi series, right up there with #SunshineMotel10 (Lost Room).
