Luos are condemning what happened in Homa Bay and sending Ruto a blunt message: one reckless move has destroyed everything you were trying to build.

People are saying something deeper than politics.

Before Ruto came, they lived, worked and built friendships with Luhyas, Kisii, Kambas, Maasai and people from the Coast.

Those relationships were never built around one politician, and they will not be sacrificed for one politician.

We will not burn bridges with our fellow Kenyans, and we will not remain silent when violence is visited upon our own people.

Homa Bay has changed the conversation.
