@Flickxball There are 2 versions of Messi which should not be humanly possible.
The 2011-12 season where he contributed to more than 100 goals in a single season and this 2018-19 season, where he quite literally, single handedly almost won a treble.
For a team sport, it's an anomaly.

@AvianOdy I guess the difference between the 2022 team and the current one is that the 2022 team looked more formidable with Messi dominating the games.
The current one is all heart and suffering. Messi, while he's instrumental hasn't been as dominant overall in matches though.

@exfootballfan It's fair to say that Messi's overall play isn't as secure as before. However, it seems that the idea is for him to avoid exerting unless necessary so he can impact when needed.

The stat-padding take is ridiculously bad. Why only Messi, and not Mbappe, Kane or Haaland?
