IRAN vs NEW ZEALAND
Every goal Iran scored on American soil is special. The way it came back and put the ball inside the net twice, it was like winning a war. The match may have been a draw, but Iran already won the hearts 💗

Assam Assembly passes UCC Bill amid thunderous applause and sloganeering of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Jai Shree Ram' from the treasury bench.
The opposition demanded the Select Committee, but it was rejected.
The Assam Tribune is NOT FOR SALE
Quite remarkable, really, how a single unverified Facebook post managed to become “breaking news” for so many people and media portals overnight.
Since May 24, claims about The Assam Tribune allegedly being sold to Gautam Adani for Rs 420 crores have been circulating widely, all stemming from one Facebook post by Gyanen Chakraborty. From there, the rumour was amplified by prominent personalities and even media outlets, many of whom apparently felt verification was an unnecessary formality.
No official confirmation. No credible source. No due diligence. Just pure confidence and a share button.
It took 88 years to build the trust and legacy of The Assam Tribune — from Radha Govinda Baruah to the current generation, the family has worked tirelessly for the people of the region, often at the cost of their own personal lives, to uphold the values and credibility of this institution.
For nearly nine decades, The Assam Tribune has remained committed to preserving the trust of its readers, and it will continue to do so in the years ahead.
In an era where everyone claims to value journalism and fact-checking, it’s fascinating to see how quickly baseless speculation can be repackaged as “news” simply because it trends online.
Maybe next time, before turning rumours into headlines and WhatsApp University into a newsroom, try verifying facts first. It might sound old-fashioned, but that’s usually how credible journalism works.
P.S. — Strict legal action will be initiated against anyone involved in creating, spreading, or amplifying such baseless and defamatory allegations.

Had a privilege and pleasure of meeting with the newly elected Executive Committee of the Gauhati Press Club led by Shri Khagen Kalita- President, and other distinguished members of the Club and had a very constructive interaction today in my office.
They shared key concerns- most notably, the long-pending need for allotment of government land for a permanent office. Remarkably, even after 50+ years and serving over 1,500 media professionals, the Press Club still operates without its own premises. They also proposed a structured Group Health Insurance Scheme for journalists, in partnership with a PSU or the State.
Recognized and appreciated the Club’s important role over decades in strengthening the interface between administration and the public. Assured them that their concerns will be examined with due priority and processed as per established procedures.
Also discussed the need to clearly define the scope of press” in today’s expanding digital and media landscape. Requested the Press Club’s inputs in shaping a more inclusive, forward-looking policy framework so that benefits reach all deserving media professionals.
We agreed to work together in this direction- for a stronger media ecosystem and, ultimately, for the larger public good.

My investigative story, a part of my fellowship by Danida Fellowship Centre. I couldn't get replies from all authorities and many divisions didn't respond to RTI.
I decided to go ahead with available data. Actual numbers of felled trees will be higher.

Senior journo with years in @BBC, @IndiaToday (TV Today), and @TEDx speaker (as per his bio) siding with the racists who were caught on camera making obscene comments against 3 women from #ArunachalPradesh. If this is the mindset of a supposedly-liberal guy, God help us.

If no intervention is made, we may see serious unfortunate accidents there. Then it may be too late in saving a few lives. I request authorities concerned to urgently consider the matter and reopen the zebra crossing at Down Town point.
@CMOfficeAssam@GuwahatiPol@gmc_guwahati
URGENT ATTENTION:
After opening Rukminigaon flyover in Guwahati, the zebra crossing in front of Down Town Hospital was closed. Besides hundreds of patients-attendants, thousands of people from Saru Motoria, Dwaraka Nagar, Mathura Nagar, Hengerabari etc daily cross GS Road there.
In absence of a proper road crossing mechanism, people, including women, children & aged, climb the iron divider in a dangerous way while vehicles speed past. Already a few accidents have taken place there. Except the peak hours, most of the times the vehicles are on high speed.
#VIRAL | At an airport arrival area, a touching moment unfolded when a young girl, spotting her father, ran ahead in excitement. A CISF personnel swiftly stepped in, ensuring the child’s safety while upholding security protocols.

#TezpurUniversity is witnessing an agitation for three months to remove its VC for his alleged corruption, irregularities. Initially a student protest, but gradually teaching & non-teaching staff too joined. It's rare in today's time to sustain a protest for such a long time.
