@juliasfriedrich I could talk about this for hours, honestly! Adhd is connected to dopamine and this movie gave me so many hits of dopamine, over and over, my brain was deliriously happy. And emotionally it landed so well also. Literally every beat. I cried like a baby every time
@juliasfriedrich That's how my brain feels sometimes: a million unconnected details and tones that I then use as building blocks. Evelyn is bored by pragmatic mundane things, has a lot of special interest and tends to get distracted a lot and not be present. Together, these things feel very adhd
@juliasfriedrich My experience is that adhd is a lot about stimulation and taking fanciful detours that do make a lot of coherent sense when put together, but it's not a structure that is (at first glance) recognizable and tight. When I first saw the movie, I felt very seen by it.
@ThadKill @Jessifris I remember being in a car on that coastline and we went through 4 or 5 border checkpoints, a few mins in Bosnia, a few in Croatia and so on. What a trip!
I love this movie, I'm happy for all the people who worked on it. It's become one of my faves. I cried every freaking time!!! I cry when I see videos about it.
The first time I saw EEAAO I found out someone close had died while I was en route to the kino. The second time it would turn out to be the last film I saw with someone I loved. The third time it was an accident, I thought the open air was screening something else!
