A few things that stood out for me:

- Smart people openly sharing what actually works
- New connections with some of the best minds in the industry
- Plenty of ideas I’m taking back to my own projects

I also had the opportunity to get on stage and share 17+ years of my own SEO experience.

Events like this remind me why I still love this industry.

SEO keeps changing. The tactics evolve. AI is accelerating everything.

This is what I mean when I talk about SERP intent and realignment... All it took was one update, less than 60 days and an AI Overview takes most of the clicks and SEVEN businesses lose p1 rankings.

The sites that got wiped didn't get penalized, they didn't lose links, they didn't actually do anything wrong at all.

Google just decided the SERP needed different content, different formats, and different types of sites...

The algo doesn't care about your revenue, your team, or how long you've been ranking. It cares about what it thinks the user wants TODAY.

How to play the NEW game:
- Track your SERP competitors monthly, not just your own rankings. If the TYPE of sites ranking starts shifting, you need to adapt before the next update hits.
- Never build your entire business on a single keyword or a single page. Diversify across terms, across pages, and across channels.
- Intent shifts are not recoverable with "better content." If Google decides a keyword is now informational instead of commercial, no amount of optimization will bring your service page back. You need a new page (or sometimes, a new URL) matching the new intent.

The longer you've been in SEO, the more unstable you'll know things really are! Build like the ground can (and will) move every 60 days.
