Israel must immediately repeal the discriminatory death penalty law passed today by the Knesset, as it contravenes Israel’s obligations under international law.
The United Nations opposes the death penalty under all circumstances. The implementation of this new law would violate international law's prohibition of cruel, inhuman or degrading punishment.
Additionally, this law further entrenches Israel’s violation of the prohibition of racial segregation and apartheid as it will exclusively apply to Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Israel, who are often convicted after unfair trials.

I don't think people understand the gravity of the situation as the UN is preparing for possible nuclear weapon use in Iran.
This is a picture of Tehran. For you uneducated, untraveled, never-served, warhawks licking your chops at the thought of bombing it. It's not some low population desert. There are families, children, family pets. Regular working class people with dreams. You're sick to want war.
Tehran is a city of nearly 10,000,000 people. Imagine nuking Washington, Berlin, Paris, London, or beyond, bombed with nuclear weapons.
I gave up my diplomatic career to leak this information. I suspended my duties so as not to be part of or a witness to this crime against humanity, in an attempt to prevent a nuclear winter before it is too late.
Yesterday, nearly ten million people protested “No Kings” in the United States. The possibility of the use of nuclear weapons must be taken very seriously. It's dangerous. Act now. Spread this message worldwide. Take the streets. Protest for our humanity and future. Only the people can stop it. History will remember us.
The most misunderstood verse in the Qur’an is Surah An-Nisāʾ 4:34.
Routinely mislabeled as the “wife-beating verse.”.
Let’s dismantle this Lie!
The very biggest divided view on Sudan among its people and among the international community is the role that former regime Islamists currently and will play in the war and the country's future. It animates Sudan's activists and pro-democracy movements as well as the RSF's external supporters.
Here Boulos spends far more time warning about their eventual return than he does what the RSF is currently doing, despite the US' announcement today of RSF sanctions or the UN's finding of genocide, which he doesn't mention. Where people stand on that issue determines their entire approach to how they engage current officials in Khartoum/Port Sudan. As such the power rests with those officials, who in private and occasionally in public, argue that they have no interest in seeing a return of regime Islamists and are doing what they can in the context of the war to curtain their activities and importance. The ball is in their court to demonstrate their sincerity.
Assuming that the momentum the army has on the battlefield is sustained and that a new Blue Nile front is not opened, that the RSF is largely driven from the Kordofans, and the war becomes largely confined to Darfur in the coming months, then the opportunity emerges to demonstrate that sincerity. Sending Bashir and Haroun to the ICC once and for all, removing/transferring Islamist ministers from key portfolios, preventing/discouraging the return of certain high-profile Islamists currently overseas from returning and setting conditions and timetables for the demobilization of Islamist militias all go a long way toward demonstrating a commitment to making a break with that part of Sudan's history. Obviously, equally important would be creating space for civilian voices, ceasing harassement of political opponents and civil society activists, among many other things.
I'm not sure how many people here realize this, but the era of human-dominated content on this platform is rapidly coming to an end. Elon knows it, no doubt. In essence, X is going to be transformed into a place where bots debate other bots, while a few obsolete humans who don't know what's happening spend their days arguing with the bots.
what breaks my heart abt Sudan is that the end is not in sight. we're surrounded by neighbors who are profiting off this war. the Int'l community isnt interested. the RSF thinks it can split the country. & SAF thinks it can win the war. & still ppl are dying #KeepEyesOnSudan
This is an ongoing, hidden atrocity that civilians are paying for, and almost no one is speaking about it.
What is happening right now in South Kordofan is not only a humanitarian crisis.
It is a serious violation of human rights and international humanitarian law.
Civilians are being forced to flee their homes and hide in bushes and remote areas just to stay alive. Families are stranded in fear, without food, water, or medical care. Many cannot move because fighting continues around them. They are trapped.
This suffering is not accidental.
It is the direct result of actions that place civilians in harm’s way and deny them protection.
Under international humanitarian law, civilians must be protected during armed conflict. They must never be targeted, punished, or forced to live in inhumane conditions. Access to food, water, shelter, and medical care is not optional. It is a legal obligation, even during war. Yet in South Kordofan, civilians are being left to survive in silence. Hidden from view. Forgotten by the world.
Silence does not mean these violations are not happening. It only means they are happening without witnesses. #HiddenAtrocities #SouthKordofan #HumanRightsViolations
Today, I read a post that said “We are all selective sinners. We choose the sins we are comfortable with, and judge the people who commit the sins we're not comfortable with”
The Quran calls this out, let’s unpack it;
If you haven’t figured it out by now…
Biden was selected to create chaos and look as clownish as possible. Trump was chosen to sell you the pre-planned “solution”.
They call it the “Golden Age”, because AI-fueled technocratic surveillance state doesn’t sound appealing.
Don’t fall for the “patriotic” marketing.
They’re all in on it.
On this day in 1991: ‘The Highway of Death’
Iraqi🇮🇶 troops and vehicles were withdrawing from Kuwait in compliance with UN resolution 660 along Highway 80.
George H. W. Bush ordered the bombardment of the retreating column, which included civilians, of 3000 trucks, jeeps, cars, ambulances, and tanks. For 10 hours, US warplanes bombed the highway mercilessly as Iraqis were burned and blown to pieces by US bombs.
By the end of the massacre, some estimates put the final casualty count as high as 10,000. White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater had promised that the US and its coalition partners would not attack Iraqi forces leaving Kuwait, which turned out to be a blatant lie, revealed in this heinous war crime.
“Even in Vietnam I didn’t see anything like this. It’s pathetic,” said Major Bob Nugent, an Army intelligence officer.
LIVE FROM BERLIN, GERMANY:
“The land is to be returned to its [Palestinian] owners.”
“And perhaps the Jewish Israelis who are there may want to rent instead of stealing, and live as Palestinians if there is a Palestinian state.”

A reflection on the beauty of sacrifice in Islam:
We joyfully welcome Ramadan where we sacrifice eating and drinking for our Lord, from sunrise to sundown. And it’s only for Allah.
In Ramadan, we reach faith highs and sacrifice is a huge reason why.
