How does Seton Hall, a school with 1 commit and 2 players on the roster, fall into “Need to Pick It Up” but Georgetown, who retained multiple players and added Jaland Lowe is in a tier by itself?
Big East transfer portal
I was unfamiliar with your game:
- Providence
- Xavier
Looking Great:
- Villanova
- Depaul
- Creighton
Haven’t made big hit yet, but will
- UConn
- St John’s
Need to pick it up:
- Marquette
- Butler
- Seton Hall
Are you breathing?
- Georgetown
@HoyaNation@KyleWilliamsD2i@WheelerRashaad What makes me a fake Hoya fan / Cooley hater?
I’ve watched and supported through a 4-55 stretch in BE play, through losses to Radford, UNC Asheville, Arkansas St.
I’m not a hater for wanting this team to succeed and wanting the fans around the program to wanting that too
@HoyaNation@KyleWilliamsD2i@WheelerRashaad It’s not revisionist. I realize all buckets aren’t created equally and wasn’t expecting those kinds of numbers out of him again.
But I WAS optimistic about what a guy who could put up those kinds numbers could do when surrounded with better talent and taking better shots
@KyleWilliamsD2i@HoyaNation@WheelerRashaad FWIW, I agree with Cooley’s approach on program building, but it’s fair to recognize that this is 2026, not 2016, and rebuilds *can* happen much quicker in the portal era, even if you don’t agree philosophically.
Guys like Sha and Willard are doing more with much less this year
@KyleWilliamsD2i@HoyaNation@WheelerRashaad That’s kind of the point, though. It’s awesome that Cooley brought in 2 pros in one year, but shouldn’t a program with 2 pros aspire for better than 8-12 and a winning record?
@KyleWilliamsD2i@WheelerRashaad@HoyaNation Because we:
- Returned our SG guard who averaged 18.5 a game
- Brought in (1) a future NBA wing, (2) a consensus top ~5 PG in the portal, and (3) some depth pieces from HM programs (UK, Louisville, etc)
- The #2 recruiting class in the BE
@HoyaNation@KyleWilliamsD2i@WheelerRashaad Of course, but you were still 6-8 in conference and lost 2 of 3 non-con games against ND/WVU/Cuse with him.
Do you get swept by DePaul if he’s healthy? No, but you were still likely to be on the outside looking in on the NCAAT with 2 NBA players on the roster
@KyleWilliamsD2i@WheelerRashaad@HoyaNation A winning conference record, a win in the BET, and not going 0-3 against DePaul (albeit all were Sorber-less) for starters.
No one faults Cooley for the situation he inherited, but It’s not Cooley-hate or anti-Georgetown to have high expectations and standards for the program
A signature of the Ewing era was finding new ways to lose
I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Hoyas lose a game that was that in the bag
Unfortunately, an embarrassing few weeks
This program has relayed the message at the time of the last two hires that they aspire to contend on a national level. Based on that, and being no closer from when he took over, he should be trending towards fired after this year. If you were serious.
@RizKing4L@babaoladotun_ I think you have bigger problems to worry about.
Better get a couple more Baba’s before you come to DC next year or we’re gonna wipe the floor with you.

@TerpRecruiting …were you not reposting and following all of Ermann’s updates and tracking insider updates and tea leaves? This is such a lame complaint.
