More than 1000 young Frenchmen are out on the streets of Narbonne today to demand justice for 17-year-old Louis.

He was beaten to death by a migrant gang a couple of days ago. The attackers filmed themselves stomping on his head.

Il progressait bien et rêvait de jouer dans la rue. Un jeune garçon au grand cœur dont la musique s’est arrêtée trop tôt.

Je viens d'un monde où mes amis sont plombiers, carreleurs, ouvriers. Des gens qui gagnent 1 500 € par mois, qui se lèvent tôt, qui ne demandent rien d'autre qu'une famille et une vie tranquille.

Aujourd'hui j'évolue dans un autre monde. La tech, San Francisco, Paris, des gens qui gagnent des millions et qui vivent à l'abri de tout. Je pourrais fermer les yeux. Ne rien dire. Rester dans ma bulle confortable et regarder ailleurs.

Mais je n'y arrive pas.

Parce que quand je lis qu'à Narbonne, Louis, 17 ans, a été roué de coups par cinq personnes sur un chantier, laissé inanimé au sol, plongé dans le coma pendant cinq jours avant de mourir — je ne vois pas un « fait divers ».

Je vois un gamin. Je vois le fils d'un de mes potes. Je me vois moi, à 17 ans.

Cinq contre un. Sur un môme. Filmé. Et abandonné comme si sa vie ne valait rien.

Il faut être honnête sur ce que ça dit de l'état d'une société : qu'on en arrive à massacrer un adolescent à cinq et à le filmer, c'est un effondrement. Pas un incident. Un effondrement.

Alors non, je ne me tairai pas. Pas par confort. Pas par lâcheté.

Justice pleine et entière pour Louis. Et pour les siens, qui n'auraient jamais dû avoir à enterrer leur enfant.
