God is the one who does the work through us. You are not alone!

5. INVEST - In other to serve effectively, there is need to "up" your game. It is not enough to know how to sing, upgrade your singing skills. Earn extra certification. Train to be better. Investing in your self helps you climb the ladder quickly in the secular world.

2 Timothy 2:3-4 NLT
[3] Endure suffering along with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. [4] Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they cannot please the officer who enlisted them.

Anyone who is begged to serve God lacks understanding. The same applies to anyone who serves God only when there is an incentive.

4. VOLUNTARY - Giving unto God your service is a voluntary act you do. Not as an act of COMPULSION or COERCION. The same way you were not forced to give Jesus your life, is the same way you are not forced to serve Him.

3. READINESS - A soldier (Christian) must be ready to serve. Giving your service to God means being ready to do WHATEVER He asks, go WHEREVER He sends and move WHENEVER He says. A soldier obeys the command of His superior without questioning the authority.

This means you will have to endure and sometimes adjust and adapt to new realities. As verse 3 puts it, serving God involves enduring suffering sometimes.

2. ENDURE - Service is never convenient. In God's kingdom, you will have to endure gossips, false accusations, insults and even silent treatments. Service involves moving you from your comfort zone.

Sacrifice in service also means giving up somethings for the purpose of service. A soldier sacrifice the affairs of civilian life in other to focus on his service.

1. SACRIFICE - When it comes to service, whether in the secular world or God's Kingdom, there are sacrifices to be paid. Someone working from 8am to 5pm sacrifices 9hours of their day to serve someone else or an organization in exchange for salary.

Service is the work you choose to do for someone. It can be done voluntarily or in exchange for renumeration.

"Service is never forced. When it is forced, it is no longer SERVICE but SLAVERY" - Oyedeji Johnson
