Beloved, the first Adam became a living being, the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. We have born the image of the man of dust, but by faith we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven. The perishable will put on the imperishable because Jesus lives. So live in Him!
If you were a fruit-bearing tree, you could be absolutely healthy and you’d still only bear fruit one season out of four. Sowing, watering, weeding, waiting, these are vital even though the fruit is not yet visible. You must work before the harvest for there to be a harvest.

Christian, your life is in Christ. You are in Him, He is in you. You want to see fruit of your faith, and good. So abide in the Vine. Apart from Him you can do nothing. As you abide in Him and as His words abide in you, you will be much fruit, and so the Father is glorified.

Beloved, you can increase in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. You can, and, by God’s grace, you will. Read your copy of God’s Word, read it again and again. Pray to your Father in heaven, pray day and night. Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus.
Give thanks to God for His salvation in Jesus. Live as those who are being saved, live as an aroma of Christ. We are not sufficient for these things, but God gives us His own Spirit in order to lead us and to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere.
God shows grace and mercy in Jesus. Jesus saves, Jesus fulfills, Jesus reigns. This is a story of great joy among men, a story of highest glory for God. Beloved, return to your work glorying and praising God for all you have heard and seen as it has been told to you.
To be a disciple is free, and it costs everything. Following Christ is not a weekly appointment on your calendar, it means He has called you to see every week on your calendar as His. He claims every thumb’s-width in the cosmos, and every tick-tock of your clock. So walk in Him.
God has given Himself to you, and it takes God’s help just to begin to understand all that means. And God has given Himself to you so that you would give yourself. Look around. Here are your fellow members of Christ’s body. As you have received, so freely give for their good.
Discipleship “proper” doesn’t mean you must follow a specific and strict 12-step program, but it does mean you must remember that you are Christ’s, you must follow Christ’s Word, and you should help others also follow Christ. This is for your good and the building up of the body.
