@1Life_saved It's not a dangerous rhetoric to say Yvonne plays a caricature of a Nigeria for her audience. That doesn't have much to do with her lived experience, all she does is flatten "what a Nigerian is". I'm sure you can see how annoying Nigerians finds it
Yvonne was raised in Port Harcourt.
Her parents are friends with mine and we had the same childhood experience as was typical for many in our time.
It was normal for middle-class fathers to play tennis or golf, that’s just what they did.
This is also how I started playing too.
A new “my bf who I thought was rich scammed me out of 60k” story just dropped on tik tok.
She sent the man the cash for a Hampton house and a euro trip and he was playing sugar daddy and sending the money to other women 😭
I honestly cannot watch anything that has Yvonne Orji as a representative for Nigerians.
I cannot watch anything that has these Diasporans that were not raised in Nigeria, as representations of the people, because all they present, is a caricature.
Wanted to buy a casual dress from a Nigerian brand and it cost €118, exclusive of delivery cost.
I bought two nice, versatile outfits from Mango for €78, with free delivery.
Maybe it's me, but the maths isn't adding up.
I don't know how you guys are surviving Lagos.
