Here's my problem with the "emergency acquisition" narrative: every single person in a position to know the financials had tens of millions of reasons to push it. Marty said on Act Man he made out well when Sony bought his stock. Barrett's lawsuit says he was owed ~$45-50M from the deal. The bigger the crisis story, the easier the sale. Maybe it's true! But nobody outside leadership has ever shown the actual numbers, and "trust me, we were dying" from people who got rich off the deal isn't evidence.
@Gundautism@trulyyblu@Sony Bungie leadership wanted to start production on other games besides Destiny 2 and Bungie leadership didn’t want to keep making a new Destiny game every 3 years. Activision saw that route as unprofitable and cut ties
I have seen the cutscene in question. No spoilers in this thread.
I am utterly livid.
The devs who worked so hard on Destiny for years, who knew where things were going and the potential that was ahead.
They all deserved so much better.
It’s not too late to just allow the team to continue developing updates for Destiny 2 btw Sony :)
We literally wouldn’t even be mad and bully you with it. We would all forget about this thing and just move on when Shattered Cycle releases later this year.
This is what happens when you unleash the devs who actually care about the game & give the players what they want.
Congratulations to @Bungie for this launch & thank you for the last decade. #destiny2
If ANYONE sees this tweet and you're not in the know about Destiny 2;
Today is the FINAL update for Destiny 2. There are no plans for a Destiny 3, but TODAY we can change that.
If YOU are available and can log in at ANY point today, we can prove to sony that this franchise deserves to live. Playercount numbers matter!
New Guardian or Old... LOG ON TODAY IT'S OUT LAST SHOT FOR A FUTURE !!!!
Don't tell me @Sony cant green light Destiny 3!
This is the studio that greenlit Concord, a game NOBODY asked for. They can green light a game that already has near 400,000 signatures and overriding all presentation streams. And we WILL crash the servers tomorrow!
"The speaker spoke for the traveler. I had the honor of speaking for you. Now its your turn to speak for your community and for this world you have called your home for over a decade."
Thank you, Peter Jessop, for being our voice for so many years.

Logged back onto Destiny 2 for the first time in months today.
I’ve said it 1000 times and I’ll say it again.
The gunplay, the movements, the ability play… it’s so damn top notch. The game just feels amazing to play.
Listen, I’m excited to play Destiny 2 tomorrow…
But I think I’d rather the servers completely crash from the insane flood of people trying to login.
Would you rather be able to play all day? Or would you rather we completely kill the servers?
