@GMFWashington Oh, also, MotU has been pretty strong in toy aisles the last few years and crossing over with a lot of stuff. Kids and teens have very likely seen it or heard of it. But I imagine the impression is, "That's my dad's thing," mostly. Or something like that.
@GMFWashington Teens not knowing about MotU is hard to say. It entirely depends on their interests and their parents. There's been 3 shows recently based on the property, all on Netflix. She-Ra, Revelations, and the CGI He-Man. So, there may be awareness. I agree the affection is not there.
@gkaplan70873304 All I added was the windows of vulnerability, which you don't actually need, but just further helps explain why Skeletor likely couldn't have done it before.
@gkaplan70873304 windows, which means being close enough. As to why Adam doesn't know that. He spent most of his life transforming away from people to maintain his secret. It would not have come up for him. All your issues addressed, easily within the cannon of the show itself.
@ANateForFate It's basic premise is a question that most of it's critics miss in their sexusm, "What would happen in Skeletor won for once?" And that's a great premise for a series aimed at adults, and for a sequel series. Sometimes it leans a little hard into edgy stuff, but it's good.
@Qui_Quae_Quod42 It's kind of a sequel to both the 80s show and the 2002 show. More the 80s show, but the difference in build between Adam and He-Man is ripped from the 2002 series. And the designs overall make it feel like a continuation of that show. But the lore and personalities in 80s
@LauraRbnsn They managed to piss off both the right and the left, leaving themselves with the center. And the center has been shrinking decade by decade. Could have probably survived one of those casting choices, not both.
@LauraRbnsn There's a segemt of fans that don't like a black man (Idris Elba) being cast as Man-At-Arms. These people are racist and stupid. But they exist. Then there's a segment of the fanbase that won't see it because Jared "The Pedo" Leto is Skeletor. That's where I fall.
@oresutoOG I think when you get deeper into Getter lore, especially in the Manga, Getter is the pioneering work here. It takes three hearts that beat as one to bring out the true power of Getter. And Getter Rays evolve things.
@CitizenAmedia It is the core of his character, they change it off screen, and they justify that change poorly. He does return to a Luke who helps by the end of TLJ, which is good. But his whole arc isn't great in its foundation.
@CitizenAmedia It all ends up coming back to Lucas's prime thesis on the destructive and healing powers of Love. Vader burns the galaxy out of love for Padme. Luke saves the galaxy with love for his father. And while I don't mind TLJ Luke, I dislike him in the sequels due to him not helping.
@Aaron_Sparrow So he has counters to super strength and opponents who can fly at relatively fast speeds and are thus more agile than he is. Like he's just a terrible match up for Rogue.
@Aaron_Sparrow He's also kind of a hard counter to Rogue's most powerful ability. She can't make skin contact with him. And he has no power to absorb, so she'd just get like memories, which useful, but not that useful. Plus Doom regular fights the Thing and the Human Torch.
@CitizenAmedia that TFA asks off screen by having Luke make no attempt to save Han. Were there maybe other answers? Yeah, probably. But the answer in the TLJ is the least convoluted. So, it's fine, I guess.
@CitizenAmedia This fundamental change to Luke's character happens off screen during the climax of TFA. And TLJ has to figure out what a Luke who doesn't try to save his friends looks like. And that's the Luke we see in TLJ. Do I like this Luke? Not particularly. But it does answer the question
